A modern phone camera is good enough to scan most paperwork. The difference between a poor photo and a clean scan comes down to light, framing and a few quick edits.
Before you take the photo
- Use a flat surface. Lay the page on a table. Smooth out folds.
- Pick a contrasting background. A white page on a dark table makes the edges easy to find.
- Use even light. Face a window, or turn on a room light. Avoid your own shadow falling across the paper.
Taking the photo
Hold the phone directly above the page, parallel to the table, so the paper does not look like a trapezoid. Fill most of the frame but keep all four corners visible. Wait a second for the camera to focus.
Crop and straighten
Open the free image scanner and add your photo. It finds the edges of the page automatically. If it misses, drag the corner and edge handles to fit the page. A zoom bubble shows the exact spot under your finger so you can place each point precisely.
Choose a look
- Magic color lifts shadows and keeps colours bright.
- Black and white gives crisp text and a small file size.
- Grayscale keeps soft detail for photos and stamps.
Save a PDF
Add the remaining pages, check the order and save one multi page PDF. Your photos are processed on your device and are never uploaded, which matters for IDs, bills and forms.
