Many people apply for jobs from a phone. The good news is that you do not need a resume app, a laptop or an account. A browser based resume builder does the job, and the file you download is a normal PDF.
Step by step
- Open the builder. Go to the free resume builder in Chrome or Safari.
- Choose a template. Tap the one you like. If you are unsure, pick Classic or Modern, which are easy for software to read.
- Fill in your details. The form is split into short parts: personal details, summary, experience, education, skills and projects. Take them one at a time.
- Check the preview. Use the preview tab to see the full page. Change the spacing if it runs onto a second page.
- Download the PDF. Review the final page and tap Download PDF. The file goes to your Downloads folder.
Tips for writing on a small screen
- Write one achievement per line. Short lines are easier to type and easier to read.
- Draft your summary in your notes app first, then paste it in.
- Your draft is saved on your phone, so you can stop and come back later.
Sharing the PDF
Attach the PDF in your email or upload it on the job site. You can also send it on WhatsApp. Name the file with your name, for example riya-sharma-resume.pdf.
Is it private?
Yes. The builder runs in your browser, so your details are not uploaded to a server. If you want to clear everything, use the Start over button.
